I’m Carolien Lavigne, co-founder of Inquinox. With a background in operations research and a passion for solving real-world problems, I’ve spent over a decade applying data-driven models to help organizations make better decisions—especially in logistics, waste management, and supply chains. Whether it’s optimizing reverse logistics networks or designing strategic planning tools, my work has always been about turning complexity into clarity.
Our team
Inquinox was born out of that same mission: to guide companies through complex decisions using analytics, data, and well-crafted models—when gut feeling just isn’t enough. While I lead our analytics, modeling, and strategy, Inquinox is strengthened by powerful technical collaborations. My husband, Frederik Boux, brings deep expertise in data infrastructure, software architecture, and digital systems. His insights help ensure that the foundations of our tools are technically sound, scalable, and built to last.
Our partnerships
We work closely with Penumbra, a software development company I co-founded with Reginald Dewil. Penumbra specializes in building complete decision-support applications—from the core optimization models to intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. Through this partnership, we ensure that the tools we deliver aren’t just technically sound, but ready to be used by companies on a daily basis. Our work is further enriched by ongoing collaborations with the Center for Economics and Corporate Sustainability at KU Leuven, where I engage in research and projects focused on sustainable materials management and circular economy. Additionally, as a Senior Expert in optimization and business analytics at People Exponential, I contribute to managing business transformations, expertly navigating the complex dynamics of people, teams, and organizations in today’s fast-paced environment.
Together, we combine analytics, optimization, and technology to empower companies to make better decisions—and keep making them.
